Meet the Wren Family

The Wren’s Nest is a family-owned and operated business, founded in 2018 in Harrodsburg, KY by Rodney and Melissa Wren. They, in partnership with their son and daughter-in-law, Nick and Kassidy Wren, will be expanding their services to the Danville community in Spring of 2026.

Rodney and Melissa have been married for over 30 years and raised their two grown children in the Danville community. Melissa has over three decades of experience in early childhood education, including 20 years working in the Child Care Assistance Program. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development and Family Studies. Rodney is a retired Kentucky State Police Lieutenant and a native of Danville. They are now proud grandparents to eight grandchildren and spending time with them is some of their greatest joys.

Nick and Kassidy represent the next generation. They have been married for over 10 years and are raising their three children in the Danville community. Nick holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree while Kassidy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics and Human Nutrition. Both call the University of Kentucky their alma mater (GO CATS!). Kassidy previously spent over 5 years as the Children and Family Life Pastor at their local church in Danville, where they both remain active in leadership, discipleship, and volunteer roles.

The Wren’s Nest is truly a labor of love. The entire Wren family is united by their love for the growing families of Danville and their shared joy in caring for children. Their commitment is to making sure this center is a nurturing, welcoming “NEST” where every child leaves ready to spread their little wings and fly!
